Wirral Coast Cycle Route

Description

This 22 mile coastal route travels around the Wirral peninsular running along the River Mersey, the Irish Sea and finishes along the River Dee. It starts at Monks Ferry car park in Birkenhead, runs past the two Mersey ferry terminals and onto the UKs longest promenade between Seacombe and the seaside resort of New Brighton. It continues through the coastal towns of Hoylake and West Kirby before ending at Thurstaston common with its stunning views over to Wales.

The route is majority traffic free, flat and on a good surface.

Getting There

There is parking at the start of the route in Birkenhead at Monks Ferry car park and Hamilton Square rail station is very close by.
